Joshua Grimball born 1744 or earlier. He lived on Edisto Island, Charleston County, South Carolina. Joshua was born to Joshua Grimball Sr.[1]
Joshua gave William Maxwell, executor of his father Joshua Grimball, a receipt for his one fourth, or child's share of the estate on 8 Nov. 1766
Joshua Grimball married 29 Oct 1765 Hannah Rippon, widow (St. Philip's Register).[2]

Joshua Grimball lived on Edisto Island and was a planter of large means. He sold in 1767 to James Clark a plantation containing 660 acres of land, it being apart and parcel of the 2321 acres bequeathed unto Joshua by his father, bounded to the southward on the Edisto River for £2980 current money. This place is on what or is known as Grimball's Creek and is now owned by the Clarks.
Joshua Grimball died intestate before March 8, 1768, when Hannah Grimball and Benjamin Jenkins advertised his estate.[3]
His widow, Hannah Grimball of Edisto Island also died intestate before Feb. 11, 1771, when Benjamin Jenkins administered upon her estate; her maiden name has not been found.
Joshua Grimball was a slaveholder and his is probate inventory named and valued about 35 slaves after is death in 1768.[4]
