James was born in 1761. He passed away in 1837.
Sources
The FindaGrave reference lists his father as James Hamilton (1685-1728) and mother as Elizabeth Garrard (1678-1744) although no sources are given. Many other sites and trees have various other parents listed. More work needed. The gravestone says he died May 5, 1837 aged 76. (So a calculated birth year could be 1761). Buried in Portland Mills Cemetery Hollandsburg, Parke County, Indiana, USA. (1)
