Margaret Hamilton is the daughter of Sir John Hamilton and Janet Home.
She married, firstly, James Johnstone of Johnstone, younger, son of John Johnstone of Johnstone and Elizabeth Jardine, before 1552.
She married, secondly, David Douglas, 7th Earl of Angus, son of Sir George Douglas and Elizabeth Douglas, after 8 May 1552.[1]
She married, thirdly, Sir Patrick Whitelaw of that Ilk after June 1557.
As a result of her marriage, Margaret Hamilton was styled as Countess of Angus in January 1557.
