James Hamilton married Catherine Leslie, daughter of James Leslie
[1][2]
James and Catherine had the following children: [3][4]
James. Born in 1675. James entered Trinity College Dublin in 1693.
The above information is most-likely about a different James Hamilton.
"James H. Hamilton was born between 1625 and 1640 in Lanarskshire, Scotland. Other references list Leitrim, Ireland. He married Catherine Leslie and they had 19 children."
According to the Burgess family descendants, James H. Hamilton was born on May 11, 1630, in Hamilton, Lanarkshire, Scotland, the family seat. This is the birth date I have added to this profile. The Hamilton family were Presbyterian "dissenters" that had problems with the official "Church of England" and moved between their ancestral home in Scotland and Ireland.[5]

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with James by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with James:
The Geni entry below is to the same person & gives his ancestors, which Wikitree does not. His listed son Audley Harrison Hamilton (b. 1677) was previously listed on Wikitree to be the son of another Hamilton -- and a descendant of Claud Hamilton, 1st Lord Paisley. The James Hamilton on Geni is a descendant of that Claud Hamilton. Therefore, if Geni is correct, Audley Harrison Hamilton would still be descended from the family that Wikitree previously said he was, when instead his grandfather is now "unknown."
Perhaps this has been rejected, but I don't see it here. Thomas Hamilton was only recently placed by Wikitree in Audley's family, & there's been a lot of controversy as to who he is since then.
Hamilton-7512 and Hamilton-633 do not represent the same person because: Two different people - one from Scotland, 1 from Ireland

Same names with different vitals for parents and grandparents appear to be somewhat different as well. It does seem plausible though.
