John Hammond Jr. was born to Lieut. John Hammond September 4, 1716 at Rochester, Massachusetts.[1]
John married Mary Ruggles, daughter of Timothy, in about 1740. He and Mary had the following known children:[2]

Elnathan, b July 20, 1746; d June 16, 1750
Molly, B February 10, 1750
John 3d, b July 16, 1753; d December 1753
John, b November 2, 1756
Benjamin, b March 30, 1759
Hannah, b June 19, 1763; d January 2, 1793
John Hammond Jr. died at Rochester, Massachusetts, December 20, 1785,[2] "in 71st year".[3]
Probate
The will of Jonathan Hammond of Rochester was dated 12 March 1784 and proved on 2 October 1787 in Plymouth. He mentions his wife Mary (executor), his children, John (executor), Benjamin (executor), Mary, Hannah, and Elizabeth Shaw, his daughter-in-law, Deborah, the relict of his son Timothy, decd., and his grandson Timothy Hammond.[4]
