Biography

Thomas Faunce Hammond, the youngest son of Faunce Hammond and Mary Holmes, was born December 17, 1783 in Dartsmouth, Massachusetts, USA. ^[1]

In 1787, he went with his father to Reading, Vermont, where he served as Justice of the Peace and Judge of Probate. ^[1]

On January 25, 1808, he married his first wife, Betsey Bishop (who was born January 23, 1783 and died June 28, 1844. Betsey gave birth to nine children, who were all born in Reading, VT. List: ^[1]

He lived in Reading until 1836 (age 49) , then moved (with his first wife) to what is now West Windsor, Vermont. On July 1, 1845, at the age of 61, Thomas married his second wife, Betsey Sergeant, who died June 28, 1848. ^[2] His third wife was Anna Henry, he married on November 22, 1848. No issue by second and third wives.^[1]

In the Spring of 1864, Thomas (age 77) and Anna, moved to Chester, Vermont, where he died December 24, 1865, at the age of 82 years. ^[1]
