Biography

Benjamin Harris[1] married Sarah Dumas June 27, 1737 in Hanover County, Virginia.

Benjamin died before March 13 1762, as noted in the records of Cedar Creek Monthly Meeting. That his death was noted in Monthly Meeting would indicate that Benjamin was a Quaker. His will was proved 14 October 1765 in Louisa County, Virginia.

No original document shows him with a middle name. Middle names were rare until the late 18th century.

Did Benjamin's middle name start with an O? I just merged a profile that had "Benjamin O." as his name/preferred name. I didn't put the "O" as his middle name - I'd rather put an actual name than an initial. Does anyone know it? (If not, should we go ahead and add just the O as his middle name?) Cheers, Liz
