Biography
Private James Harrison I served with Virginia Militia during the American Revolution.
James Harrison I is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A052187.
When James Mason Harrison was born in 1742, in Calvert, Maryland, British Colonial America, his father, John Harrison, was 32 and his mother, Sarah Daniel, was 17.
James married Elizabeth Lampkin (1754 - 1840). He had at least 4 sons and 3 daughters with Elizabeth Lampkin. Some children were:
- Winferd Harrison (1777 - 1853)
- James Harrison (1784 - 1845)
- Benjamin Franklin Harrison (1785 - 1861)
- William Henry Harrison (~1793 - ~1853).
He served in the Revolutionary war as a private in Mecklenburg County Militia, Virginia Militia, or "The Virginia Line."[1]
He died on 12 December 1839, in Overton, Tennessee, United States, at the age of 97, and was buried in Harrison Cemetery, Owen, Kentucky, United States.
