Biography

When Gertrude was 22 she married Beal D. Calvin on 31 October 1888. The couple had 5 children: Norman Harrison Calvin, Lena Elizabeth Calvin, Alice Letitia Calvin, Charles Beal Calvin and Bertha Mary Calvin.^[1]

In 1900 Gertrude (age about 33) was living in Davis Township (excl. Shawnee city), Pottawatomie, Oklahoma Territory, United States. Note: Rural Route 5, Shawnee, Pottawatomie, Oklahoma^[2]

In 1910 Gertrude (age about 43) was living in Plainview, Hale, Texas, United States.^[3]

In 1920 Gertrude (age about 53) was living in Davis, Pottawatomie, Oklahoma, United States.^[4]

"F-4 Zilpha Gertrude Harrison, b 6-4-1866, m 10-31-1888, Beal D. Calvin, b 5-9-1856, d 8-13-1911, lived R.R. 5, Shawnee, OK for the most part. Informant was Mrs. I. W. Douglass, Oklahoma City, OK. A note said he ½ nephew of Gilla D. Calvin."

It is unclear whether the death date is Zilpha's or that of her husband.
