Bobby Lee Hatley

Bobby Lee Hatley, "Ben", was my Pawpaw. He was married to Ruth Aileen Dry Hatley. He farmed and worked for the city laying roads. He loved bluegrass and played the guitar very well. We had fish fries and pickin's on his front porch and ate honey from his hives, melons from his garden and listened to great stories about times long gone. He wanted to farm so bad he even carried two mortgages for a while just to move out to the country. He was a navy man in his youth and always had a tough exterior, but could be a big old teddy bear too.
