Anne was born in on 19 July 1767, at “Roundabout” in Louisa Co., Virginia (the only home Henry ever built), the daughter of Patrick Henry and Sarah Shelton.
On 7 September 1786 at “Salisbury,” when she was nineteen, she married Spencer Roane (born in Essex County, Virginia in 1762, he died at Warm Springs, Bath County, Virginia in 1822. Roane was a prominent Virginia lawyer and jurist and Anne was to bear him six children (three sons and three daughters).[1]
Anne died 22 May 1799 at age 31 at ‘Montvale,” the home of her sister Betsey in King William County. She is buried in the Aylett family cemetery there.
