Biography

European Aristocracy
Sir Richard Herbert was a member of the aristocracy in British Isles.

Sir Richard Herbert was the natural son of Sir William Herbert and Maud Turberville. He married Margaret Cradock, sole heir of Sir Mathew Cradock, bringing Candleston Castle to the Herberts.[1] Sir Richard had three children by his wife Margred (Margred, William, and George) and four by his mistress Isabel (Thomas, Alice, William, and Morgan).[2]

entry in the History of Parliament Online for George, son of Richard & Margred, has birth as 1494/5 "estimated from parents' marriage and..." This argues against a 1505 marriage date for them.
