Biography
Seth Higgins was born on 17 May 1744 in Eastham, Massachusetts. His parents were Ebenezer Higgins and Martha (Burgess) Higgins. [1]
He married Martha Linnell on 24 December 1772 in Eastham[2]. They relocated to Standish, Maine (then called Pearsontown) in the late 1790s. They had nine children[3]:
1. Selina, born 14 Jun 1773; married Prince Higgins
2. Rebecca, born 21 Dec 1774; married Ephraim Higgins
3. Seth, born 28 Aug 1776; married Experience Higgins
4. Thankful, born 28 Dec 1779; married Josiah Yates
5. Martha, born 31 Dec 1781; married J. Cole
6. Elizabeth, born 14 Jan 1785; married James Higgins b. 7 feb 1781. Son james Higgins 12 jul 1819 m. Mary Anna Stewart. Son Walter Sanford Higgins m. Nellie McKinnon. Gertrude Frances Higgins m. Frank Joseph Devido. Son David Anthony Devido.

Seth's date of death is uncertain, but heirs for a Seth Higgins were listed in the 1808 town records, so it's likely he died before then Sears. [3]
