Biography

Calvin was born in 1823. He was the son of Francis Higgins and Elizabeth Caldwell. [1]

He married Martha Simpson Griffin, they resided in Laurens County, South Carolina, and do not appear to have had any surviving children. [2] [3]

He passed away in 1876 and is buried at Rosemont Cemetery in Newberry, South Carolina. [4]

Obituary

"DEATH--Dr. C. C. Higgins, the eldest son of Mr. F. B. Higgins, died on Tuesday last, the 18th, at his residence in Vaughsville, and his remains brought here and interred at Rosemont Cemetery by the Masonic Fraternity, on Thursday afternoon. Dr. Higgins was in his 53rd year of age, and had an extensive practice in the profession which he adorned with great ability." [5]
