Researcher and descendant George Hill (now deceased) was the source (via Jillaine Smith) for his marriage date. There is no such marriage in Ridgefield (where wife lived). They married 16 Jun 1778

Shortly after the Revolutionary War, it appears he removed to Rutland, Vermont.
There is a Frederick Hill, Rutland, Vermont, 1790, 1800, 1810 censuses.
First Monday of May 1791 the first U.S. District Court ever held in Vermont took place in Rutland. Nathaniel Chapman was judge; Frederick Hill was clerk.[1][2] Him?
In 1798 it was "voted that the selectmen agree with Frederick Hill, esq., to make an exact copy of the plan of the Town on parchment."... Mr. Hill was postmaster of Rutland a number of years.[3] (Later on same page, he was postmaster as early as Jan 1795; on p 362, it states he became postmaster in 1791 and served through 1796.) Him?
Frederick Hill, Esq. appears in the day book of Samuel Williams, proprietor of The Rutland Herald:[4]
[11 Nov 1799] Frederick Hill Esq Debtor for damage done by his Cow in my garden. .12 - 1/2.
A footnote (added by the editors?) reads: "Frederick Hill, clerk of the U.S. District Court, 1791-1800; moved to Rutland from Fairhaven."
