James Hinds III (b. abt. December 1647) was baptized 27 February 1647/48 in the First Congregational Church, Salem, Massachusetts.
[1]
James s Bro. Haines 27. 12. 1647.
He was perhaps married in the early-to-mid 1670s (at Southold?, Long Island, New York) to his wife Anne. [citation needed] They had moved to Elizabethtown, New Jersey by 1677, because on 11 July 1677, he requested a Warrant Survey for 120 acres of land at Elizabethtown in right of himself and his wife. This might indicate they did not yet have surviving children.
James Hinds died in 1719 in Elizabethtown, New Jersey. On 25 May 1719 administration of his estate was granted to his son James Hinds.
"1719 May 25. Hinds, James, of Elizabeth Town, Essex Co., yeoman. Administration on the estate of, granted to James Hinds. Lib. A, p. 119" [2]

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with James by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with James:
Followup: I have now changed estimated birth year of son James to be 1678, and estimated birth year of daughter Sarah to be 1680, both born in New Jersey. The estimated marriage might be closer to 1675 or 1676, and perhaps in Long Island.
Based on what it says in the biography ("on 11 July 1677, he requested a Warrant Survey for 120 acres of land at Elizabethtown in right of himself and his wife. This might indicate they did not yet have surviving children"), I am thinking about changing the birth years for James IV and Sarah to 1678 and 1680.
I have unsourced info that says James was also married to Mary Lee DOB 1651 In Salem, Mass DOD 1731 in Elizabethtown New Jersey. Her parents were Thomas Lee & Ann White. Info also says Mary Lee was the mother of Joseph Hinds. Can anyone verify?
