1668 - Birth record of daughter, Mary, born in Concord, Middlesex, Massachusetts Bay Colony, British Colonial America. This record, hand-written by the Town Clerk of Concord, clearly writes her birth date as January 18, 1668. Surrounding dates (including her parents marriage 3 months prior) are all 1668.

1671 - Birth record of daughter, Elizabeth, born in Concord, Middlesex, Massachusetts Bay Colony, British Colonial America on 25 Apr 1671. Note: This record is incorrectly indexed as 1677. Examining the actual document image shows that the writer of the original birth record scratched over the year of birth, changing it from ‘77 to ‘71. Elizabeth is recorded just above her brother Benjamin’s birth in ‘76/‘77 (see below), and the writer first wrote Elizabeth’s birth year as ‘77, then scratched over to change to ‘71. It seems Elizabeth’s birth was not recorded until much after the fact.

1676/77 - Birth record of son, Benjamin Graves, Jr, born in Concord, Middlesex, Massachusetts Bay Colony, British Colonial America on 27 Mar 1676 or 1677. Note: The confusion about his birth date is due to a six written above the '77 on the original record.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Mary by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Mary:
Thank you for your comment, William. I don’t think Graves-4784 is Mary Hoar Graves’ daughter Mary because the birth and death dates don’t align. Also, Graves-4784 was born 2 years before Mary Hoar’s marriage, and she was born in a different town.
Do you have any sources indicating that Graves-4784 is connected to Mary Hoar Graves?

This vital record shows Mary as the daughter of Benjamin Graves and Mary Hoar, born on 18 Jan 1668 (1669 under the current calendar) in Concord. Also above that entry, we see Benjamin Graves and Mary Hoar's marriage in Concord on 21 Oct 1668)
I think Graves-4784 needs to be updated and linked to Benjamin Graves and Mary Hoar.
Ah! I now see what you mean, Bill. (I think it was too late last night when I compared profiles. Haha!)
I agree that Mary Graves Rice has been confused, and that, although the Graves-4784 Mary Graves Ellis profile has an incorrect birth date and place, she is indeed the correct daughter of Mary Hoar and Benjamin Graves.
I am not the profile manager of either Mary Graves Rice or Mary Graves Ellis, but I’ll see what I can do.
Hoare-256 and Hoar-41 appear to represent the same person because: Birth dates differ, but every thing else matches. Hoar-41 has the most research; that DOB is probably more reliable!
Do you have any sources indicating that Graves-4784 is connected to Mary Hoar Graves?
Thank you, Joann
