There is a controversy if this is the Revolutionary War Thomas Holden (son of James Holden and Hannah Adams) who died in 1778 or his son Thomas. I'm not confident enough to add any info on the subject.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Thomas by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Thomas:

Can someone explain why Thomas Holden's son, Abraham has the surname 'Hollen'? Should that second 'l' be a 'd'? Every male from Abraham on has the surname Hollen! If there is a reason, like adoption, please indicate. I tried to change 'Hollen' to 'Holden', but it just gives this SON another surname. Thank you, Carol (Baldwin-3428)
