Born in Westmoreland, New Hampshire 26 Dec 1796. He moved with his family to New York state about 1808. His father was killed in the battle of Queenstown Heights in 1812.[1] He married Martha Wellman 3 April 1819 in Murray, Orleans, New York. They lived in Murray, New York, where he was a blacksmith until at least 1855[2] and moved to Orleans, Michigan by 1860.[3][4] They had seven children born in New York. He died 30 Jan 1872 in Orleans, Michigan.[5]
