John died 18 Sep. 1822 in Huntington, Fairfield, Connecticut[1] and was buried in Lower White Hills Cemetery, Shelton, Fairfield County, Connecticut. His memorial has a photo of his headstone and links to those of family members.[2]

Ruth Hubbell b. 19 July 1784 married Hezekiah Buckingham.
His will is dated 22 March 1821 and proved on 1 October 1822 in Stratford. He mentions his wife Sarah, his daughters, Betsey, wife of Lewis Nichols, Charity, wife of David H. Booth, Sally, wife of Blackleach Burritt, and Ruth, wife of Hezekiah Buckingham, Hepsa, wife of William Tucker, his grandson Isaac Hubbell, son of Abijah Hubbell, and two granddaughters, Marcia and Sally, daughters of Abijah Hubbell, Christopher Hubbell, and Isaac Hubbell.[4]
His inventory was completed on 15 October 1822 in Huntington.[5]
In 1823, the widow received her dower.[6]
His real estate distribution was set out to Christopher Hubbell (eldest son), Isaac Hubbell, and Hezekiah Hubbell.[7]
