He was born 26 May 1651 at Lancaster, Middlesex County, Massachusetts [1] and his parents were Joanna (White) and Daniel Hudson, Jr.
[2] His great-uncle was Henry Hudson, III, the famous English navigator of the Hudson River and Hudson Bay.
Daniel Hudson, III married on 21 Jul 1675 in Sudbury, Middlesex County, Massachusetts to Mary Maynard of Sudbury. [3]
He was a bricklayer and mason by profession.
He owned two properties in Lancaster and Watertown, Massachusetts.
He built the first schoolhouse for children in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
On September 11, 1697 a party of 40 Indians made a surprise attack at midnight on Lancaster, Worcester County, Massachusetts. About 25 people were killed including the town preacher, his parents and 2 children of Nathaniel Hudson. Two of his adult sisters, Elizabeth and Joanna were kidnapped and presumed to have died in captivity. [4][5][6]
After his wife died, he moved with his son Daniel to Bridgewater where he died in 1731, aged 80. [7]

Hudson-16966 and Hudson-155 appear to represent the same person because: Same wife. Hudson-155 appears to be conflated with his father and has attached daughter Abigail who is likely conflated with his sister Abigail.
I added sources for Daniel Hudson, husband of Mary Maynard. They indicate different birth and death than this profile. This profile (husband of Mary Maynard) appears to be a duplicate of Daniel Hudson (1651-1731). The “daughter” Abigail is likely a sister (daughter of Daniel Hudson (1651-1731) and Joanna).
It was Daniel's father that died in Lancaster, Mass as the result of the Indian Raid. By that time this Daniel had removed to Bridgewater upon the death of his wife Mary. His brother William had previously settled in Bridgewater. He is buried in Bridgewater.
Hudson-8074 and Hudson-155 appear to represent the same person because: Name, birth date, parents and siblings are the same. Birthplace seems easy to resolve (I believe it was Worcester County, MA, perhaps Lancaster, MA?). Death date and place should easily resolve as well. (I don't think Daniel died in the Indian raid on Lancaster in 1697, but many in his family did). Thank you
Daniel Hudson (b. 1625) was slain, along with his wife, Joanna, along with two daughters and two grandchildren in the Lancaster, MA Raid of 1697. One-third of the Town of Lancaster was wiped out in that raid and many people taken captive, including Daniel's two daughters, Joanna and Elizbeth, ages 37 and 40. They were never heard from again. The townspeople made a valiant effort to defend their homes during the raid, but many of them were killed, including the above Hudson family.
