Immigration
Joan, her husband John, youngest daughter Elizabeth, and her brother and sister-in-law, were all passengers on the Mayflower in 1620, and John Tilley and his brother Edward were both signatories of the Mayflower Compact. John and Joan, along with John's brother Edward and his wife, Ann, died shortly after their arrival in Plymouth.[15][16][17] Of the Tilley family who came to the New World, only Joan's daughter Elizabeth survived.
