"Lewis and Zilpha (or Zeltha) were probably married in Richmond County, North Carolina ca. 1818 or 1819 as James, the first child, was born there December 29, 1820. They seem to have lived in Richmond until 1827 when they moved to near Ashboro in Randolph County, North Carolina, In 1832
they were in the Northwest corner of Randolph County and in February 1834 they were in Southwest Guilford County."
