According to The Great Migration Begins p 1095-96 for Davy Johnson had *no* children. The name of his wife is unrecorded and his parents and origins are unknown.[1]
See Below.
Mr. and/or Davy Johnson migrated about 1630, perhaps on the Mary & John,[1][2] settling in Dorchester, Massachusetts. He was freeman 18 May 1631; assessed for 20 feet of rail, based on one cow, 3 April 1633; and granted lot # 15 of 6 acres in the meadow beyond Neponset, late 1634 or early 1635. "Mrs. Johnson that was" (implying she remarried) was granted one acre of meadow 27 June 1636.[1]
This implies his death between about 1634, between his grant and that of his wife. Note that Anderson makes no attempt to give Johnson an estimated birth.[1]
His wife's name is unknown, even her given name. As a matter of fact most of the records refer to him as Mr. (a term of respect) Johnson. He is referred to once as Davy and once as David. Neither of these records is connected to Dorchester or calls him Mr. Anderson raises the question that it might be two men. But it is too uncertain and David Johnson was dead by 1 March 1635/6 and Mr. Johnson by 27 June 1636.[1]
He had no recorded children.[1]
The book James Ludden, the Old Planter expands the suit involving William Almy, David Johnson and James Ludam, who at one time was servant to both men.[2]
This same book claims that James Ludden married Mary Johnson a daughter of Davy and Elizabeth Johnson. It refers to Some Ancestral Lines by Raymon Meyers Tingley. [3] Meyers says unequivocally that James ludden married 10 Feb 1636 Mary, daughter of Davy and Elizabeth Johnson, of Weymouth Massachusetts, born about 1614, England; died ___.
DAVY JOHNSON, born about 1580, England; died between Feb. 10 and June 27, 1636, Weymouth Mass. He came in the Mary and John to Dorchester, Mass., 1630. Freeman, May 18, 1631. Married first about 1607, Elizabeth ______ (died about 1630) and married second, about 1631 , Mary ____ She married 2nd., John Eells.
