Biography

Hiram was born in 1818. Hiram Johnston ... He passed away in 1861.

The 1860 U.S. Census recorded 42-year-old Hiram G. Johnston, a merchant, as head of a household in the town of Dawson, Terrell County, Georgia. He reported having $6500 in real estate and $6000 personal estate. Others in the household included Nancy J. Johnston, age 38 (or is that 28?); children Sarah Jane Johnston, 16; James A Johnston, 13; Wm L Johnston, 11; Mary E Johnston, 9; Martha E Johnston, 7; Christopher L Johnston, 5; Percival L Johnston, 2; and Hiram G Johnston, 1; and Martha E Mills, 29; Mary E. Mills, 11; Thomas Mills, 3; and Isaac Lash, a painter, age 29. All were born in Georgia except Isaac Lash, who was born in North Carolina.[1]

He passed away about 1818.
