Biography
He was born on 11 April 1910 and was the son of Emmaline Sams (Crane) and Talbert Dalton Keith (1888–1968).
He was raised by his grandparents in Alabama, USA. Later he briefly joined his father and stepmother in New Mexico, USA, before hitting the road and the rails.
He had several marriages.
Lewis Britton Keith married on 27 June 1939 in Englewood, Arapahoe County, Colorado, USA to Mrs. Myrtle (Dodd) Sneed (1905–1986). [1]
He served in the US Navy during World War II.
At one time he resided in Alaska, USA.
He passed away on 24 Apr 1982 and was buried at Lindale Cemetery in Bowie, Montague County, Texas, USA. [2]

Research Notes
Barry Keith - I last saw my father in or about 1961, so the data here comes off the internet. We did not know he had died until 1985. I note that most of what I had been told about my father's birth and family is untrue, viz, that he was born on an Indian reservation in Alabama and lived with his grandparents in Alabama until he was nearly a teenager. We did not know his family had lived in Texas. I know nothing about his life, except for a story or two about his driving to California with a friend and riding the rails back to New Mexico plus personal observations about his wandering habits.

B. Keith
There is some confusion about the facts. I assume his middle name was spelled "Britton," but it is shown as "Briton" on some sites. My mother tells me that my father was born in 1910. That date is shown on some other genealogical lists, but the death certificate is believed to have 1909. His mother was probably Emma or Emmaline who died quite young. Some lists show his mother as Laura. I am pretty sure Laura was his stepmother. According to what Lewis told my mother he was born in Alabama and stayed there with his grandparents until he later joined his father and stepmother in NM, briefly, before hitting the road and the rails. We assumed that his father was from Alabama, but the genealogies say the Keith family was from Texas followed by Oklahoma. However there were a lot of Keiths and Lewis Keiths, in and around Alabama. I last saw my father around 1961 or 1962, and only heard he had died in 1985.

Keith-649 and Keith-150 appear to represent the same person because: I found these when adding a different Keith, Thought that they were most likely the same person
