Biography

Deacon Jonathan Keyes was born 17 November 1702 in Marlborough, Middlesex. Province of Massachusetts. He was the son of Thomas Keyes and Elizabeth Howe.[1]

Jonathan Keyes married Patience Morse of Watertown 11 November 1726 in Marlboro, Massachachusetts Bay.[2]

Jonathan passed away 25 June 1778 in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts.at the age of 76.[3] His will written 26 July 1774, and filed names wife Patience, son Jonathan (his wife Sarah and her children), son Timothy, daughter Merriam, wife of Artemas Maynard, son Thomas, daughter Katharine, wife of Jonathan Warren, and son Benjamin. Benjamin was named Executor. The will was witnessed by Jonathan Wheelock, David Taylor and Samuel Whticomb.

Keyes-686 and Keyes-4 appear to represent the same person because: Both Jonathan Keyes (the one b. 1702 and the one listed as b. bef. 1726) should be

merged into Keyes-4.

Hello:

I'm trying to get some clarification on this profile. I see that the dates on here are just rough estimates. My guess is that this profile was entered to be the husband of Patience Morse, and the father of Thomas Keyes, and that the dates are just place holders? Without sources its difficult to know for sure.

I proposed a merge with Jonathan, and it was rejected because the other profile manager believed this was intended to be an earlier son that died young, but I don't think that's the case.

If the dates are not significant, I'd like to delete them so I can propose the merge again? Thank you!
