Samuel was born 16 February 1719 on Staten Island, the eldest child of Samuel Keirstead/Kierstede and wife, Lydia Dey. Samuel, junior's baptism is recorded in Dutch Reformed Church records on 27 March 1720.[1]
Samuel married Mary Johnson (b. 1725) on 1749 in Walpeck, Sussex County, New Jersey. The couple had 10 known children between the years 1751 and 1772. After his death, and the American war for independence, his widow immigrated to New Brunswick with the children in 1783.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Samuel by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Samuel:
Kierstead-45 and Keirstead-10 appear to represent the same person because: This is the oldest paternal ancestor in this chain in need of a merge into the NNS PPP. No tree conflicts. Thanks!
The mother currently attached here as Anne Holmes born 1670 is really the grandmother, so I am going to break that wrong attahcment so that the tree matches will make sense.
