Biography

James Leachman was born on 7 Apr 1821 in Mason County, Kentucky. He was the son of George Leachman and Mary (Flynn) Leachman.

James married Mary Ellen Shoptaugh Leachman (1829–1913) in Feb 1853 in Putnam, Indiana. The couple had at least four children Martha Leachman Mark (1854–1905), Belle Rose Leachman (1860–1891), Luella Leachman York (1862–1929) and Harriet Ann Leachman Seller (1864–1913).

James Leachman died on 25 Jan 1889 (aged 67) in Greencastle, Putnam County, Indiana.
