Thomas Lee was son of Benedict Lee and his wife, Margaret Packington.
Robert Devereux, Earl of Essex was imprisoned on 8 February 1601 for his rebellion. Thomas determined to secure the Earl's release and sought the help of Sir Henry Nevill and Sir Robert Crosse in his attempt. [1] They reported to the government and Thomas was arrested on 12 February for treason. He was tried the following day and executed at Tyburn on the 14th.
