Survived the wreck of the Faithful Steward off the coast of Delaware in 1785. Many of his family including his parents were killed in the wreck. Of the 48 members of his family who sailed on The Faithful
Steward, only he and his sister in law, Mary Lee and four cousins survived. [1][2][3]
