Here is the will of Mary (Smith) Ball-Lee-Smith (3rd married Maj. John Smith after John Lee died per the folks who manage Geo. Washington papers at National Archives http://financial.gwpapers.org/?q=content/smith-mary-smith-ball-lee). Mary mentioned no children or grandchildren of her own, and bequeathed her estate to her surviving sister Susannah (Smith) Lee, of Essex Co., and Susannah's children/orphaned grandchildren. All the remainder, including money, was to go to her named executor, Susannah's son Baldwin M. Lee.
