John Lennon is an Anzac who served in World War One.
John Alphonsus Lennon was born on 09 June 1890 at Landsborough, Victoria, Australia. He was the son of Patrick Lennon and Mary (Falvey) Lennon.

John was a school teacher. He enlisted on 31 March 1915 to serve with the Australian Army during World War 1. John served with the 22nd Battalion A.I.F.
John Alphonsus Lennon married Violet Westlake in 1917 at Wareham, Dorset, England.

John Alphonsus Lennon was killed in action on 09 June 1918 at Heilly, The Somme, France. He is buried at Ribemont Communal Cemetery Extension, Somme, France. The inscription on his headstone reads: "HE THAT BELIEVETH IN ME THOUGH HE WERE DEAD YET SHALL HE LIVE"
