Biography
General Lafayette was born in 1857.[1] He is the son of Daniel Blankenship and Sophia Lester."General" was his actual first name as seen in the 1870 Census.[2][3]

Please edit and change the last name at birth to Blankenship.
Additionally, if you research him and his brother Lafayette Blankenship, you will find that the 1870 and 1880 census records do not include Lafayette, but do include General. I found his birth certificate. For some reason I think that they had him listed as Lester because of his mother's maiden name. He isn't a Lester, he is a Blankenship. And his name isn't General either that is what he became. It is Layfette. So they are the same person.
