Biography

She was born a daughter to Sir James Livingston, 1st Lord Livingston of Callendar, and his wife Marion. She was likely born about 1445.

She married, certainly before 2 April 1472, Malcolm Fleming, the eldest son and heir to Robert Fleming, 1st lord Fleming and his first wife, Janet Douglas, third daughter of James Douglas, 7th Earl of Douglas.[1]

She survived him and married, secondly, William Fleming of Bord. On 1 June 1493 the Lords Auditors decreed that the Earl of Huntly should pay to William Fleming of the Bord and Euphame, his spouse, relict of Malcolm Fleming, sixteen merks for the mails and annual-rent of the lands of Monycabo.[2] The lands of Moncabo thus being her dowry lands. There is contention at this point with William Hunter in his history of the family.[3] He suggests that Malcolm married Euphemia, daughter of Lord Crichton. Wikitree has chosen Balfour Paul as source due to, primarily the connection with the dowry lands. It is clear that Malcolm married Eupheme Livingston as the Records of Parliament show that, in 1493, her then husband, William Fleming of Bord, was in a dispute against George Gordon, Earl of Huntly, regarding rentals from the lands of Monycabo. The terms of the dispute provide "William Fleming of the Bord and Euphamy, his spouse, the spouse of the late Malcolm Fleming."[4]
