DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Richard by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.

Ancestry.com has a copy of the source you have listed here, and it includes Mary as one of the children of Richard and Margaret (Jackson) Lockwood. (In "North America, Family Histories" collection. P. 197 of the book.) She was born 18 Oct. 1763, died in Feb. 1819, and married an Israel Merrick. Seems like the merge could go ahead.
Lockwood-1888 and Lockwood-2122 are not ready to be merged because: The daughter Mary didn't show up in the source I used for Richard. Does anyone have more information on Mary?
