Johann Nepomuk Luxem was born on May 16, 1786 in Mayen. [1] His parents were Johann Peter Luxem and Anna Simonis. [1]

He was baptized the same day he was born. [1] His baptism record says the following: [1]

16 Maji natus et renatus est Joannes Nepomucem Joannis Petri Luxem lapicida et Anna nata Simonis filius legit eum levante Joanne Simonis cive [?] et Theresia Testses virgine majora.

He married Theresia Carbach on August 22, 1815 in Mayen. [2] Their marriage record says: [2]

Luxem Johannes, filius Petri Luxem [?] et Annae Heimes conjugum ex Mayen, et Theresia Carbach, filia Andrea Carbach, et Margarethe Weingart conjugum ex Oberspay, matrimonium iniere 22 Aug.

Johann and Theresia had eight children:

  • His marriage record says his mother is Anna Heimes but there is no Johann in Mayen who is the son of Peter Luxem and Anna Heimes. I believe Anna Heimes is really Anna Simonis, daughter of Maria Himmes. -Nelson-3486 21:50, 23 July 2016 (EDT)
