Macintosh-33 and Mackintosh-28 appear to represent the same person because: No sources for Macintosh-33; but daughter Margery matches based on sources in son-in-law's profile.

Someone should add to this profile. It would also be appreciated if a Pre-1500 Certified WikiTreer could link the previously noted William Mackintosh to this profile and adjust William's dob to "before 1475". If someone would like me to add them as a profile manager to William's profile, I'll certainly be happy to add them. Thanks.

"In 1475 the Earl of Huntly had granted his father the marriage of the sisters MacNaughton or MacNiven, co-heiresses of Dunachton, on condition of receiving a bond of manrent. Lachlan's son William was accordingly married to the elder heiress, with the result that for the next hundred years the Mackintosh chiefs were styled "of Dunachton.""

"Lachlan Badenoch died in September 1793, before the purposes of the bond were fulfilled. It was not until 1497 that William Mackintosh, Lachlan’s eldest surviving son by the third wife, Catherine Grant, married Isobel Macniven. She died shortly thereafter, and as there was no issue of the marriage, the line of the old barons Maciven ceased. On the 3d day of April 1497, a bond is granted to the Earl of Huntly by “William Lauchlanesone, son of umquhile Lachlan Mackintosh of Gellovie.”"

Just found the above statements and consider it pertinent if proven true. Again, IF true, this would indicate that his son was born sometime in the 1470s, or earlier, and married to the younger heiress in 1497.

Database error 210: Father was dead before birth. Death date needs a closer look and/or adjusted. His death year is two years before his son Lachlan was born. His birth year is the same as his sibling Duncan, also. If they were twins, to avoid further confusion it should be noted in their bio's.

Lachlan Mackintosh's name first appears in the year 1441 as having fought with the Camerons at Craig-Cailloch, when his brother Gilliecallum and his cousin Angus were slain, and he himself lost several fingers.

Lachlan was thrice married, first to a daughter of the chieftain of the Sept Gillies, who then lived at Gaskmore, in Badenoch; secondly, to Elizabeth Calder, daughter of Hucheon Calder, son to the parson of Kingussie ; and thirdly, to Catharine, daughter of Sir Duncan Grant of Freuchie.
