Research Note

There are two Pierre Maheux who are cousins. They married two sisters on the same day in the same marriage record. Here is a translation from a G2G inquiry that shows which Pierre is married to which sister:

This is my best translation "First Pierre Maheu son of the defunct Pierre and Marie Louise Garnier married Suzanne Girou daughter of Jean Girou and the defunct Marie Suzanne Belanger....Second marriage of Pierre Maheu son of the defunct Charles Maheu and Marie Charlotte Garnier to Marie Louise Girou daughter of Jean and defunct Belanger."

DO NOT MERGE THE TWO DIFFERENT PIERRE MAHEUX profiles.

Further note about second marriage: The dates work for the Pierre who married Marie Louise to have married Genevieve Martin in 1731 after Marie Louise died in 1729. Marie Louise (dead) is mentioned in this marriage. Marie Genevieve is mentioned on Pierre's death record, linking the three of them.

Biography

Pierre Maheu was born to Charles Maheux and Charlotte Garnier on 9 August 1693 and baptized on the 10th in L'Ange-Gardien. [1] [2]and died 4/13/1751, according to PRDH. However, the wrong spouse was connected to him through PRDH. DO NOT CHANGE THE SPOUSE without reading the marriage act and translations provided here.

Pierre, the son of Charles died in 1777[3]. This record also mentions Marie Genevieve Martin as spouse.

However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Pierre:

Judith, I agree. In researching them, this Pierre with these parents should be married to the sister Louise, not Suzanne. They are very confusing because of the marriage logistics. And because PRDH seems to have them conflated with birthdates and spouses.

Maheu-144 and Maheux-4 do not represent the same person because: Maheu-26 and Maheu-5 do not represent the same person because: These two profiles have different parents, different siblings, different wives and different children. They may share a name but until or unless these differences are resolved by authoritative sources, we must conclude they are different men.
