Margaret Mainwaring was one of the 3 daughters and co-heiresses of Sir Randle Mainwaring, Knight, of Over Peover, Cheshire, by his wife Elizabeth Brereton.[1]
She married about 1540 Sir Arthur Mainwaring, Knight, of Ightfield, Shropshire.[1] They had 1 son and 3 daughters:
George
Elizabeth, wife of Sir Thomas Aston
Margery
Mary, wife of Richard Cotton Esq
Margaret's husband Arthur Mainwaring was buried at Ightfield, Shropshire, England, 4 Sept 1590.[1] Margaret died before her husband.[1]
Ightfield is an ancient village, mentioned as ISTEFELT in the Domesday Book in 1086. It had its own priest which implies an established community which had its own church.[2]

Could it be noted somewhere that the surname has different spellings for research purposes i.e.; "Mayneringe" and "Maynweringe" - I believe the first spelling is written as such in one of the pedigree images supplied and now posted in the biography. I am only asking so I know proper procedure for these familial names getting closer to 1500 and before since I am not yet pre-1500 certified. Thanks in advance for any advice! Becky
