Biography

Birth and Early Life

François MALBOEUF BELISLE was born and baptized on August 27, 1699 at Cap de Madeleine, Champlain (today within Province of Quebec, Canada). He was the first of 2 known children born to father François BELISLE MALBOEUF and mother Marie JOSEPHE DUPONT. ^{[1] [2]} His father was a soldier. (Soldat de la Compagnie de DULUDE. Origin : La Vergne, Eveche de Saintes, St-Onge ) ^[3]

It is unknown exactly when François’ father died, but when he was age 3, on September 12, 1702 his widowed mother remarried to Joseph PROU/PROULX ^[4] Together they had 7 children between the years 1704-1719, half-siblings to François. ^[5]

Marriage and Children

On February 24, 1721 in Champlain (today part of Quebec, Canada), François was married to Marie Madeleine DARAGON LAFRANCE, daughter of father François DARAGON LAFRANCE and mother Marie Madeleine GUILLEMETTE. Together they had 11 known children born between 1722 - 1743. ^[6]
