It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.

What's the source for giving him a middle name of Story? It's not in the birth or marriage records, and middle names were all but unheard of in that era. I do see it on the findagrave memorial, but since there's no gravestone and no indication of where the burial info came from, that page is not exactly proof of his name.
