Obituary (unknown newspaper): In the passing of Mrs. Desiree J. LeBlanc, whose death occurred last Friday at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Anatole Bonin, Loreauville lost one of its oldest residents and a descendent of one of the oldest and most highly respected pioneers. A native of Lafayette parish, Mrs. LeBlanc, was born, Philomeme Martin, on March 3, 1848. She was eighty-three years and 8 months and 24 days old at the time of her demise. She came from the sterling old French stock for which Attakapas, and Teche country are renowned. When quite a young woman she was betrothed by the late Mr. Desiree LeBlanc, himself a leader in the affairs of this Parish. Nine children were born to this union, seven of whom together with fifty-one grand children, 45 great-grand children survive their mother.

Note: according to 1910 census, she had 12 children, 10 of whom were still living in 1910.
