His first wife Susannah is said to have died about 1720, and Joseph Martin then married a second wife (Elizabeth Merritt) and had more children. Joseph Martin made his will in 1750 and it was apparently probated in 1757 or 1760 (so the current death date in 1760 is uncertain).
