Biography

Joane / Johne Martyn was born December 8, 1570 at Sherford, Devonshire, England most likely a daughter of Robert Martyn and Joane Harris .
She married Richard Marche / Marsh (b. c 1568 - 29 April 1612), son of William Marsh (b. circa 1594) of Sherford, Devonshire, England. The following are proported known children from their union:
  1. Anne Marsh+ b. 10 Oct 1600, d. 10 Mar 1684
  2. Eulalia / Ulalia March/e + b. 26 Dec 1600, d. 19 Aug 1690”….[1] #i55307
Joane Martyn Marche died May 21, 1616 at Sherford, Devonshire, England, at age 45. More accurately, she died between the date of her will (21 May)[2] and the date that her estate was inventoried (10 Jun). In view of her date of burial, the date of her will could well be the date of death (or the 22nd).

NOTES

from "Families Directly Descended from All the Royal Families in Europe" (citations below):

"...RICHARD MARCHE (WM.), of Sherford, County Devon, died before 29 April, 1612. He married Joane (? Martyn), the testatrix of 21 May, 1616, who died between that date and 10 June, 1616, when the inventory of her estate was taken. She was probably a sister of Rev. Henry Martyn, vicar of Rattery, County Devon, the testator of 13 November, 1619, or of his wife, Lucy Martyn, administration on whose estate was granted 20 September, 1639, for, since Elizabeth March, of Rattery, spinster, daughter of Richard and Joane Marche, in her will proved 14 May, 1619, called Mr. Henry Martyn her uncle, there can be little doubt that Elizabeth's mother was Henry Martyn's sister or sister-in-law.
Wm. Marche, father of Richard Marche, in his will dated 29 April, 1612, had bequeathed to each of his seven children of his (the testa tor's) son Richard, deceased, 6s. 8d., and had made his daughter in-law, Joane Marche, his residuary legatee and executor. In her own will, dated 21 May, 1616, and proved 21 June, 1616, Joane Marche of Sherford, widow, disposed of an estate appraised (accord ing to inventory of 10 June, 1616) at £140 7s. including apparel."

Here are some sources since proposing the merge:

Actually I am waiting on permission from an author to reproduce their information here as it systematically disproves -with proper citations- that her parentage is still unknown.

Martyn-139 and Martyn-4 appear to represent the same person because: I believe some work needs to be checked with the father but there is one profile with a few sources while the later has none and both have the same dates/locations and are attached to the same wife. I believe Martyn-4 should be kept and utilized for information as we also have siblings that are duplicates etc

Joan Martyn, wife of Richard Marche, was NOT the same Joan Martyn, wife of William Cornell; the latter couple was married in 1602; Richard Marche was still alive long after that year.
