Melvin was born in 1906 in Ash Flat, Sharp, Arkansas. He was the son of William Robert McCord and Martha Susan Gullett.^[1]

He was living in the household of brother John Rowland McCord in Pleasant Ridge, Fulton, Arkansas in 1910.^[2]

He married Ollie Hall on 08 Feb 1925 in Fulton county, Arkansas.^[3]

They were in St. Francis township, Clay, Arkansas in 1940.^[4]

He passed away in May of 1983.^[5]
