Married Sally Smith on Nov 20, 1794 [1] Married Betsey Read in Knox, Waldo Maine on Mar 2, 1818 ,[2] Note - birth record for James says Betsy is second wife Children Jonathon born Nov 4, 1795 Amos (Jr) born Sep 6, 1797 Thomas born Sep 6, 1801 Asa born Apr 19, 1905 Joseph born Feb 14, 1807 Mary born Feb 26, 1809 Sally born March 15, 1811 Elizabeth born March 15, 1814 Phebe born June 7, 1816 James born January 6, 1819 Record shows both wives but does not designate which child is which wife's. Since he married Betsy in 2018, James is presumably hers and the other children are Sally's [3]
