DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Elizabeth by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Elizabeth:
I would like to propose that Elizabeth's maiden name be changed to Fields. Jesse' Land Warrants suggest that she is a Fields, not a McCoy. Jesse and Elizabeth's first born was Ansel Fields Gilliam (no child is named after a McCoy) and the death certificates of Jesse and Elizabeth's children state that their mother is Elizabeth Fields.
Her widow application listed her as Fields. I think she became a Fields after. I am researching her again. All I had for her at that point was the War of 1812 Pension Application Files.

Census records list Eluzabeth’s birth place as NC. Her first born is Ansel/Anselm Fields Gilliam. I believe Elizabeth is the daughter of Ansel/Anselm Fields of NC. See census records. I will search for his Will today after work.
I think she has been confused with another McCoy that did marry a Gilliam.
This would make her half Pamunkey Native American as Martha Dodd was First Nation. None of Ansel Nathaniel And Martha Dodd's families online include her but McCoy's do. Hmmm. The Census are by hash marks only.
McCoy-11443 and McCoy-865 appear to represent the same person because: their birth / death information is consistent (if approximate) and they share the same spouse (duplicate profiles) and one child.
