Biography

Rebecca (Melvin) Corkum was born on August 14, 1814[1] in Chester, Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. She was the daughter of David Melvin and Abigail (Floyd) Melvin. She was the ninth of twelve children. She married Richard Corkum on 24 January 24, 1833[2] in Baptist Church, Chester, Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. Together, they were the parents of Abigail Emmeline (Emily) Corkum, David O. (Osga) Corkum, Agnes Sophia Corkum, and "Yankee" George Lacy Corkum. She passed away before 1860 according to her husband's will.
