Biography

Samuel Meriam was born Aug. 26, 1712, son of Joseph Meriam and Dorothy Brooks. ^{[1] [2]}

He married first on March 17, 1741 at Concord, Jerusha Brooks. She born Nov. 14, 1721 at Concord, MA daughter of Job and Elizabeth (Flagg) Brooks and died on Oct. 2, 1747. ^{[1] [3]}

He married second, Esther Wheeler of Concord on Dec. 21, 1749. ^[2] She was born at Concord on May 3, 1720, daughter of Joseph and Sarah (Ball) Wheeler. ^{[1] [4]}

Samuel died May 4, 1769^[1] and is buried at the Old Hill Burying Ground, Concord. His inscription reads:

In memory of Mr. Samuel Meriam who departed this Life May 4th 1769 In the 57th Year of his age. ^[5]

In his will dated March 4; proved July 25, 1769, he gave his estate to his wife Esther, sons Ebenezer and John, and daughter Esther. His brother Nathan was executor. ^{[2] [6]}

His widow Esther died Sept. 25, 1775 age 55, and is buried there as well. ^{[2] [7]}
